We have had dragons for a long time and now we will have DRAGON BOATS. Oriental, North Carolina expects to draw large crowds August 9 – 10, 2024. This event will be two days of a fun filled weekend on the water with entertainment for friends, family, co-workers and everyone who visits.
Dragon Boat paddlers move in unison, combining strength with teamwork in a boat whose elaborate design originates in ancient China. Dragon Boats are the world’s largest flat water racing canoes, propelled by a crew of 20 plus a drummer and a steersperson. Teamwork is everything in dragon boat racing. Synchronicity is more important than strength.
In addition to the dragon boat racing other activities will include; great food, great music, kids activities, a parade of teams and much, much more for friends and family alike.
